Gerriets Business Brunch

Gerriets’ first “Business Brunch” in Austria took place at the Vienna State Opera.

Already a well-established series in Germany, the Gerriets Business Brunch was extended into Austria with a very successful gathering at the Vienna State Opera on 11 November 2011.



Organized by Gerriets GmbH in Vienna, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gerriets GmbH Germany, the inaugural Austrian brunch provided an opportunity for.the new managing director of Gerriets Vienna, Dr. Andrew Paller, to introduce himself to more than 200 customers and partners. Dr. Paller is the successor to Joseph Hafner, who retired in January 2011.



After a tribute to Josef Hafner by Professor Tadeusz Krzeszowiak (degree in engineering) of the University of Vienna, the program began with a presentation about the technical background and uses of projection screens by Dr. Paller. This was followed by a presentation about curtain track systems and other technical systems by Matthias Stelzl, sales manager for Gerriets GmbH in Austria. Representing Panasonic, a partner in the previous Gerriets Business Brunches, Michael Pröll, gave a summary of the latest developments in the projector market and also provided projectors for use at this brunch.

After Andreas Främke, team leader and project manager at Gerriets Germany, took the audience on a journey through the history of art curtains, with many examples from major theaters and opera houses in the world, a wonderful buffet meal was presented onstage. Completing the event was an extensive backstage tour of the Vienna State Opera by the venue’s technical director Peter Kozak.
