LiveAudio acquires two SD7s

Atlantic audio has made its second double SD7 sale to LiveAudio event technic GmbH, which has purchased two of DiGiCo’s stunning new digital mixing consoles.

This acquisition expands the company’s sound and lighting equipment inventory and allows owner Georg ‘Schorse’ Hentschel to continue his policy of offering his customers only the most innovative technology on the market.

Hentschel explains his decision. “A console such as the DiGiCo SD7 creates desire,” he says. “We are aiming to use both SD7s for top end corporate productions, such as the VW Autostadt event in Wolfsburg. We also plan to expand our activity in the international touring and event markets and because the features the SD7 offers allow us to offer a number of new ideas and solutions, we will also be able to look at new types of projects.

“Our goal is to give both FOH and monitor engineers a system that is comfortable to control and easy to handle, so that they can fulfil the ever more complex demands of their customers. In my opinion, the intuitive operation system of the DiGiCo SD7 is the next step in no compromise digital mixing.”

DiGiCo D Series and the new SD7 are all fully compatible and give the ability to mix and match according to a wide variety of requirements, but Hentschel wants to have the full power of the SD7 available for both FOH and monitors.

“I have ordered two consoles because, for me, it is only an SD7 at both the FOH and monitor positions that will give my clients the full power of this solution,” he continues. “Our portfolio of projects contains industrial and gala performances, press conferences, sport events, broadcast, concerts, stage performances and musicals. Our remit is extremely diverse, which means we will use the consoles to their full capacity in both the national and international market.”

However, the DiGiCo D1 and D5 consoles purchased by LiveAudio in 2006 will continue to be a significant tool for its rental business. “These DiGiCo consoles have given us a great return on our investment,” Hentschel says. “As a brand, DiGiCo has achieved an excellent reputation in the pro audio market. We organize a lot of events where the D1 and D5 fit perfectly, so we will continue to use them to their best advantage. With the SD7, DiGiCo marks a new era in ease use of digital technology. This console is miles ahead in terms of surface design and technology and in comparison to other “mainstream” digital consoles. It offers investment protection, which I need for my rental business. The analogue age is at an end as is the period of analogue and digital consoles being compared - I only expect real innovations in digital technology from now on. Engineers who work with digital consoles want more and more new, creative and versatile functions. I’m looking forward to an exciting future with the SD7, creating new, interesting business opportunities.”
